Tet exhibit to help people understand meaning

Tet, Lunar New Year, is the big event right now. Tourists are pouring into Vietnam. To help visitors better understand the significance of the holiday a display at the Viet Nam Culture and Arts Exhibition Centre will give lessons on the basics. The exhibit will also introduce the writings and poetry that Vietnamese people hang in their homes to celebrate.

Buddhist Pagoda reopens

Dong Pagoda in Vietnam's Yen Tu mountains has reopened amidst much celebration. Roughly 30,000 Buddhists arrived early to celebrate the grand reopening. There were two ceremonies for the Pagoda: ho than nhap tuong (invoking spirits to enter statues) and khai quang yen vi (sanctifying the Buddhist statue).

Artist has new exhibit

Artist Dao Anh Khanh unveiled a new exhibit last Thursday. The 18-painting display called Area of Passion features all nude women in many poses and locations. If you want to see the paintings, they will be on display at the Mosaique Living Room until March 15.

Now is not the right time for businesses to invest in Vietnam

Vietnam is the land of opportunity of industrial growth. Right now, though, is not a good time to build factories because Vietnam lacks a basic infrastructure. Real estate and stock prices are volatile and everything should stabilize and become very attractive around 2010 to 2015.

Vietnam logs onto the Internet and plays video games

Vietnam's economy is growing at a rapid rate of about eight percent a year. Electronics are huge and Vietnam is connecting to the Internet more than ever. VinaGame is Vietnam's largest video game company. The company holds karaoke contests and just joined the World Trade organization.
