On February 1 education policy makers and experts from seven countries met in Hanoi to discuss how to produce graduates ready to join the workforce. It was a two-day event titled ‘Strategic Dialogue On International Education And Employability’. At 7:30pm on the eve of the Lunar New Year artists in Hanoi will surprise the public with a parade. The parade's title is "Preserve and develop national characteristics in the integration age". At a conference on foreign media held in Hanoi on the 13th, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, who is also chairman of the Steering Committee for Foreign Media Coverage, stressed the importance of emphasizing all the good that is going on in Vietnam in 2007. The foreign language media needs to promote a more positive image of Vietnam as it goes through its renewal process. On February 7 a national healthcare conference met in Hanoi to discuss avoiding the possibility of a human influenza type-A (H5N1) epidemic. Infectious diseases are a serious problem in Vietnam. On Thursday night a bus with passengers traveling home from the Central Highlands to Quang Tri province collided with a train when it ran through the barrier. The bus driver and 12 passengers died instantly.
