Unpaid Bonus 'causes Strike

According to Thanh Nien daily, a state-run newspaper in Vietnam reported than a strike have gone out with over 800 workers at Chin Phong Vietnam, a Taiwanese garments factory to protest a delay in payment of salaries and Lunar New Year bonuses. The company plans to pay half of the bonus a week after it payed the salaries and pay the other half on April 10 which just pissed the employees resulting to the strike.

Vietnam's Fight Against Bird Flu

Bird Flu is a dreaded disease which has terrorized both the health and business of countries worldwide. China, which is the home of the world's biggest poultry population was infested by these fowl disease which has killed the lives of children in Asia. It's neighboring countries have been fighting and avoiding being infected by these disease. Vietnam has recently foil an illegal smuggling of chickens having the bird flu disease form China. Raise Electricity Prices to Attract Investors

Media reported that Vietnam would have to raise electricity retail prices by up to 10 percent to attract more investors in the energy sector to meet the booming demand in the future. the demand of power is expected to grow by 16 percent until 2015 with the country's fast economic growth rate.
