On Monday, there was a plea which had been made by one of the world's most famous of all Zen masters.

This plea had been for religious freedom in his homeland of Vietnam. The master said that the communist leaders of his country have lost touch with their revolutionary ideals, as well as with their Buddhist traditions.

Thich Nhat Hanh was one who had helped to popularize Buddhism in the West and he had been known to sell millions of books all across the planet, portraying the leaders of Vietnam as corrupt.
